SUPUNNEE PARGUL

Program Director

Supunnee Pargul is Thai and hails from Sam Prao, Isaan. After she earned a B.A. in English from Ramkhamhaeng University in Bangkok, she taught second grade english for three years at Wattana Wittayalai Academy. After earning her M.A. in International Community Development from Northwest University in Seattle, "Nee" returned to her village to begin this work.

Danielle and Supunnee met in Seattle in 2014 after earning the same Master’s degree in International Community Development, a year apart. Independently and unbeknownst to one another, they had each focused their graduate theses on the region of Isaan, Thailand, Danielle on cultural contextualization and Supunnee on child education. Soon after, Danielle headed to Isaan to see Nee's village. In 2015, Supunnee returned to Isaan to offer quality education to children in her village. At any given time, she hosted classes of 20-80 children in her mother’s house. After another visit to Isaan, this time with her husband, Danielle and Garth started Shared Space for All to help support the work that Supunnee had begun.

DANIELLE SLAUGHTER NEUFELD

Executive Director, Founder

Danielle Neufeld holds an M.A. in International Community Development and a B.A in International Relations. Her Master’s thesis was the inspiration for Shared Space for All. In this paper, she outlines the economic and cultural systems that sustain prostitution in Thailand. Danielle speaks Thai conversationally and is an experienced cultural broker with a knack for understanding and navigating Thai collectivist culture. Danielle has been working with women and children in Northeast Thailand since 2014.

GARTH NEUFELD

President, Founder

Garth Neufeld is an educator who is passionate about work that serves vulnerable populations. He first traveled to Thailand in 2008 and has returned, nearly annually since then. He and his wife, Danielle, started Shared Space For All in 2016. Garth manages much of the American side of the operations of the organization.
